A very prestigious ceremony and an event Everyone in school look forward to, The School Council Election.
The candidates were from class 9th and 10th like every year. The Children are selected keeping in mind various factors that make them eligible for elections. The voting is done for house Captains and Vice Captains by all students class 6th above.
To make the children aware of the election procedure we have candidates who are given time to prepare a speech and then they were given a date to address the school. During the Mass P.T. lecture on Thursday, the Candidates spoke to the students of their house giving them reasons to elect them for the Students Council positions.
The elections were held in the School Auditorium onFriday,, 5th July. There were ballot boxes and the students were given slips which had the symbols of each candidate printed on it. A child could only vote for their house candidate. They were told to keep their vote as a secret. Only one child could enter the area of the ballot boxes and cast their vote. To keep it fair the votes were counted by teachers with the Candidates as a witness to avoid any thoughts of foul play. Before the end of the day, we had the names of the newly elected members. The same day House moderators were allotted the houses by draw method.
Investiture Ceremony was decided to be held the following weekend, 20th July, Saturday so the proud parents could witness their wards swearing-in as the Captains and Vice Captains. It was a moment of pride for all of us. The Principal administered Oath for the Head Boy and the Head Girl followed by the Sports Captains and the House Captains and Vice Captains. She later handed over the school flag to the Head Boy.
